Job Role: Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) - Gas & Plumbing
Location: Hybrid - 50/50 split between remote working and on-site (South East / Greater London Area)
Salary: Up to £65,000
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

Role & Client Overview:
We are recruiting for an experienced and qualified Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) specialising in Gas and Plumbing to support the delivery of high-quality apprenticeship training programmes across the South East and Greater London region.
This role offers a flexible, hybrid working structure and the opportunity to play a key part in a long-term programme designed to deliver meaningful outcomes for learners. You will ensure robust internal quality assurance processes are in place and support a team of assessors in maintaining excellence in delivery and assessment practice.
You'll be joining a forward-thinking, socially driven training provider with a focus on long-term contracts and the delivery of impactful vocational training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and carry out internal quality assurance activities across Gas and Plumbing apprenticeships (up to Level 3).
- Support and develop assessors to ensure high-quality, compliant delivery.
- Conduct regular sampling of portfolios and assessments to ensure awarding body standards are met.
- Maintain accurate IQA documentation and contribute to ongoing self-assessment and quality improvement.
- Participate in and support preparation for EQA visits and audits.
- Use tools such as OneFile e-portfolio and AI-powered lesson planning tools to support assessors and track learner progress.
- Work collaboratively with tutors, mentors, and managers to ensure consistency of delivery across the provision.
- Uphold a structured delivery model of 4 days per week delivery and 1 day dedicated to admin/paperwork.
- Ensure learners meet their 20% off-the-job training requirement and that learning is logged accurately.
- Support assessors to meet KPIs and help drive learner progression and timely achievement.
Key Requirements:
- Hold a recognised IQA qualification (e.g. V1, TAQA Level 4, or equivalent) - or be willing to work towards.
- Occupationally competent in Gas and/or Plumbing, with qualifications up to Level 4.
- Hold an assessor qualification (e.g. CAVA, A1, D32/33).
- Strong understanding of apprenticeship standards, assessment frameworks, and City & Guilds qualifications.
- Experience using e-portfolio platforms such as OneFile.
- Comfortable working independently across a hybrid model, with on-site visits across the South East and GLA region.
- Excellent communication, organisational and coaching skills.
- A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
