IP Monetization and Distribution Manager

The role

This opportunity will be right for you if you are analytical, sharp-minded, and eager to both understand how international sales from TV productions are allocated among right owners as well as to incentivize distributors and sales agents to improve our revenues.

The role includes tasks such as understanding contracts, applying contract wordings into revenue calculations, performing desktop audits of collection reports, and liaising with third parties on any discrepancies. You will request sales and participation reports from producers and distributors, provide sales and participation reports to producers where relevant, and ensure the sales agents are allocated the appropriate share of revenue. You will also work closely with Finance, Business Affairs, Legal, and be the main point of contact for our collection agencies.

• Being on top of IP distribution of Nordic originals and keeping track of financials, contracts, recoupments, and processes
• Manage relationships with collection agencies
• Manage relationships with distributors and producers, ensuring they are endorsing our content successfully, following up on reporting and feedback
• Create valuation analyses (model building, scenario testing, etc.) to support the content teams when considering new projects
• Conduct desktop audits of incoming royalty reports to ensure proper reporting of income from third parties.
• Ensure the appropriate share is paid to the producers where Viaplay Group is acting as the primary distributor or revenue collector
• Liaise with our various third parties to follow up on any discrepancies in sales and collection reports
• Ownership of communications to support our Finance department’s budgeting and forecasting process, as well as monitoring and forecasting revenues from international distribution for Viaplay Group’s portfolio of original programming.

What we’re looking for

We understand you may feel confident ticking certain boxes more than others and that’s why we always keep an open mind in our recruitment process. But, in order to thrive in this role, we do believe you’ll have at least some experience in the following:

A genuine interest in the TV and VOD industry with an emphasis on revenue allocation from international sales of TV/VOD productions. You are analytical, have a sharp mind, and thrive when delving into mathematical models.

• Bachelor’s degree in finance preferred
• 5+ years’ work experience, experience within TV production financing or TV distribution (within the acquisitions or participation handling units) is a plus
• Confident in Microsoft Excel
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Analytical and enthusiastic about complex problem-solving utilizing financial modelling and analysis
• Ability to work with structure
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• A genuine desire to learn, achieve, excel, and evolve
• Fluency in English, oral and written. Swedish is desirable but not mandatory.
