Description
The Stonehage Fleming Family & Partners Group is a leading independently owned family office group, employing more than 900 people in nineteen offices across fourteen jurisdictions. The group provides a range of services from long-term strategic planning and investments to day-to-day advice and administration to over 250 families of substantial wealth. The group structure consists of five divisions, namely Investment Management, Family Office, Corporate Legal and Advisory, Group Financial Services and Group Services.
OVERALL PURPOSE
The role reports to the Operations Manager based in the London office and is primarily responsible for delivering the day-to-day operational tasks implemented to support the Private Client Teams and the Investment Team who manage the organisations range of internally managed UCITS Funds.
This is a junior role within our team - Associate level. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
The role involves a close working relationship with other operational teams globally and within the UK, regular interaction with London employees within UK Investment management business and maintaining key relationships with external providers and third-party administrators to ensure robust processes are in place and a high level of service is delivered to the wider business.
Key Responsibilities
PRINCIPAL ELEMENTS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Frequent interaction with Outsourced Provider, Advent Managed Services, Fund Managers, Third Party Administrators and Custodians as well as other team members in a professional and accurate manner to ensure appropriate oversight is maintained .
- Reconciliations of stock, cash and trading activity between external custody, internal settlement book of records and fund administrators.
- Daily monitoring and processing of fund deals in/out into core system to ensure Investment Team have up to date cash balances in their respective funds .
- Monitor failed trade settlement notices.
- Manage workflow queues and mailboxes.
- Liaising with colleagues in the wider group on investor related queries and requests.
- Responsible for adhering to the operating procedures of the business as written and of providing enhancements and changes to the procedures as and when identified. It is essential that any such changes are properly documented immediately to enhance the control environment .
- Project work and non-BAU deliverables.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- 2-3 years working in relevant investment operational roles within a similar organization; Family Office, Investment Manager, Asset Manager, Wealth Manager or Private Bank
- Has obtained or is working towards IAQ or IMC qualifications
- Educated to degree level is not mandatory
- An understanding and direct experience working with core investment operational processes such as Reconciliations, Fund Operations, equity, fund and fixed income Settlements, Corporate Actions and Payments.
- Direct experience working with equity, fixed income, UCITS/Unitized Funds and ETF securities and understanding their trading lifecycles.
- Understands the roles and functions of the Back Office, Middle Office and Front Office from an asset servicing and support perspective.
SKILLS
- Good knowledge of MS Office specifically Excel and data analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral
- Ability to use initiative and work independently
- Procedure and controls mindset and identify improvements to processes
