Job Description:Opportunity to work in the central investment governance team providing analytical insights and shaping investment policy.
Our main priorities are:
Investment policy: maintaining and developing bp's investment governance policy, the Group Investment Assurance and Approvals Process (GIAAP) and the Economic Evaluation Methodology (EEM) to ensure alignment with bp's strategy and sustainability agenda.
Investment governance: providing guidance and support to the businesses on the application of EEM and GIAAP (particularly for novel and complex aspects of economic evaluation).
Investment assurance: assuring all investment decisions >$100m, including acquisitions and divestments.
Training: Providing SME support for a range of training programmes to enhance economic and wider evaluation methodology skills across bp.
The Investment governance analyst role is responsible for supporting the development, implementation and analysis of bp's investment appraisal and governance policies and will be working closely with investment governance professionals across the businesses.
Key Accountabilities:- Support the development and maintenance of bp's policies for investment governance (GIAAP) and investment appraisal (EEM) aligned with group strategy.
- Advise the businesses in their interpretation and implementation of EEM (economic evaluation methodology).
- Manage processes related to the Resource Commitment Meeting (RCM).
- Provide assurance of investment cases.
- Provide portfolio insights on the EVP/RCM investment cases to support EVP/RCM decision making.
- Support the RCM practitioner's group.
Essential Experience and Job Requirements:- Deep commercial and economic evaluation skills or corporate planning.
- Experience of the investment governance process.
- Experience of developing business cases and valuation.
- Strong analytical and data skills - able to translate data into meaningful insights for senior management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Strong interpersonal skills to be able to work across businesses, levels and geographies.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to listen carefully and consider different perspectives.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience of structured finance desirable.
Desirable:- Experience with Anansi, powerBi, coding, data flows preferable, but not essential.
