Job description

Join us as an Investment Banking Client Data Analyst at Barclays. In this role, you will be responsible for the implementation of data quality processes and procedures, ensuring that data is reliable and trustworthy, then extracting actionable insights from it to help the organization improve its operations and optimize resources. You will perform analysis within the Client Data Management Design Team to conduct strategic data analysis, data modeling, operations process design, and support the development of client data business cases.

To be successful as an Investment Banking Client Data Analyst, you should have experience with:

  • Working with client data and managing client hierarchies to ensure accurate and efficient data handling.
  • Client onboarding processes, ensuring a smooth and effective integration of new clients into the system.
  • Managing client risk and understanding industry-specific challenges to mitigate potential issues.
  • Data governance frameworks and principles, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
  • Proactive problem-solving, capable of finding effective solutions to complex issues.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Strong understanding of Salesforce, including its functionalities and common issues, to effectively troubleshoot and optimize its use.
  • Identifying problems within systems and processes, understanding root causes, and implementing effective solutions.
  • Ability to work independently, managing your own tasks and responsibilities efficiently without constant supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create and deliver compelling presentations.

This role is based in Glasgow.

Purpose of the role:

To implement data quality processes and procedures, ensuring that data is reliable and trustworthy, then extracting actionable insights from it to help the organization improve its operations and optimize resources.

Accountabilities:

  • Investigation and analysis of data issues related to quality, lineage, controls, and authoritative source identification.
  • Execution of data cleansing and transformation tasks to prepare data for analysis.
  • Designing and building data pipelines to automate data movement and processing.
  • Development and application of advanced analytical techniques, including machine learning and AI, to solve complex business problems.
  • Documentation of data quality findings and recommendations for improvement.

Vice President Expectations:

  • Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
