Our client is a leading investment bank specializing in Energy Infrastructure across emerging markets. With a strong track record in advising on project finance, M&A, and capital raising, they work with developers, institutional investors, and financial sponsors to structure and execute complex transactions in the renewable energy, power, and infrastructure sectors.

The Role:

As a Senior Associate, you will play a key role in the execution of transactions, leading financial analysis, due diligence, and deal structuring while supporting origination efforts. The ideal candidate will have experience in investment banking, infrastructure finance, or private equity, with a strong understanding of emerging market dynamics.

Key Responsibilities:

Deal Execution:

  • Lead financial modelling, valuation analysis, and transaction structuring for M&A, project finance, and capital raising deals.
  • Manage due diligence processes, working closely with legal, technical, and financial advisors.
  • Prepare investment memos, presentations, and other materials for senior management, clients, and investors.
  • Negotiate key transaction documents, including term sheets, financing agreements, and sale & purchase agreements.

Origination Support:

  • Conduct market research and identify potential investment opportunities across emerging markets.
  • Support senior bankers in client interactions, pitch development, and relationship management.
  • Analyze industry trends, regulatory changes, and macroeconomic factors impacting the energy infrastructure sector.

Stakeholder & Client Management:

  • Collaborate with developers, institutional investors, private equity firms, and DFIs to structure and close transactions.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to drive deal origination and pipeline development.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders, including banks, multilaterals, and government bodies.

Key Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in investment banking, project finance, or private equity, with a focus on energy, infrastructure, or emerging markets.
  • Strong financial modelling and valuation skills, with expertise in DCF, LBO, and project finance models.
  • Proven experience executing M&A and/or capital-raising transactions in energy or infrastructure.
  • Deep understanding of emerging markets and the challenges/opportunities within these regions.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience managing due diligence processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to senior stakeholders.
  • CFA, MBA, or similar financial qualification is preferred.
