International Technical Sales Engineer

Permanent Opportunity

Location: Redditch

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 08:00 am till 4:30 pm or 8:30 am till 5:00 pm (must be flexible due to nature of the role)

We are working in partnership with a well-established engineering company who are recruiting for an ambitious, tenacious, self-reliant, motivated, and fearless International Technical Sales Engineer who can engage and build strong worldwide working relationships. Worldwide travel is an essential part of this role, an excellent opportunity for someone who believes the world is their oyster and is looking to build a career in Technical Sales.

The successful Sales Engineer / Technical Sales Engineer will work partly remote, covering all technical & sales activities mostly in the UK & Europe but some further afield. You will be fully office-based while training is given.

Role Responsibilities

  1. Identify and assist in the sale of company products to new, lapsed & existing clients.
  2. Represent the company to clients in an honest and professional manner.
  3. Boost the long-term viability & profitability of the company.
  4. Report on activities in monthly Sales meetings.
  5. Provide short customer visit reports.
  6. Note trends and statistical forecasts.
  7. Introduce new jobs as agreed on a project-by-project basis.
  8. Support Technical Sales as required.
  9. Interact and support other Sales Team activities.
  10. Proactively boost the profitability of the business.
  11. Grow key accounts within the business.
  12. Back up & work with other Sales Team members.
  13. Manage and grow existing relationships as well as business development with end-to-end sales responsibilities.
  14. Liaise with various internal departments needed to ensure delivery on time and on budget.

Person Specification

  1. Motivated, self-reliant, tenacious, ambitious, and enjoys travelling.
  2. Strong B2B relationship builder who can maintain and grow working relationships.
  3. Engineering qualification (HNC, HND, or Degree) with a desire to work within the electrical industry & an ability to see production-ready solutions to diverse problems.
  4. Ideally have experience in a technical sales role with a second language and travel experience.
  5. Good understanding of electrical switching precision engineering and problem-solving.
  6. Good understanding of production engineering is essential.
  7. Determination, enthusiasm, and motivation to succeed and grow with a reputable company.
  8. Technical qualification, Apprentice trained, HNC, HND, or Degree is essential.
  9. Good knowledge and experience of quality systems expected.
  10. Experience selling is not necessarily needed for the right candidate.
  11. Full clean driving license & UK/EU passport.
