International Tax Senior Manager/Director

About the Company: This Top 10 Global firm is seeking a highly skilled and ambitious individual to join their team as an International Corporate Tax Senior Manager or Director. The firm is renowned for providing top-tier tax advisory services to a distinguished group of UK and international companies.

Role Overview: The International Corporate Tax Senior Manager or Director will play a crucial role in the team, focusing on both Pillar Two and International Taxes responsibilities. The role involves overseeing the preparation of impact assessment models, providing technical support, and delivering compliance and reporting solutions. Additionally, the successful candidate will be a key point of contact for international tax campaigns and will manage cross-border business reorganisations, M&A transactions, and international expansions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the preparation of impact assessment models and analysing gaps based on the client's Enterprise Resource Planning, tax accounting, and reporting systems.
  • Providing technical support for Pillar Two in the tax accounting reporting process and delivering compliance and reporting solutions.
  • Keeping abreast of ongoing changes and updating the team appropriately.

International Taxes Responsibilities:

  • Acting as one of the first points of contact on the International Tax campaign.
  • Overseeing work related to cross-border business reorganisations, M&A transactions, international expansion, and changes to a business's operational model.
  • Managing cross-border loan financing and hedging, including the tax treatment of interest and foreign exchange.
  • Mentoring the team on permanent establishments, withholding tax, double tax relief claims, profit repatriation strategies, Controlled Foreign Corporations (CFCs), etc.

General Departmental Responsibilities:

  • Helping to oversee general departmental matters to ensure the smooth running of the department, in conjunction with Partners and Directors where appropriate.
  • Scheduling resources to assist with the delivery of work and ensuring timely oversight of deadlines.
  • Managing work-in-progress (WIP) and billing for own clients, ensuring commercial recoveries.
  • Managing and developing junior team members, providing feedback and guidance.
  • Handling some administrative requirements and projects to ensure the smooth operation of the corporate tax team.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with clients, providing high levels of client service.
  • Liaising effectively with specialists in other areas of taxation, other departments within the firm, and legal teams to provide coherent and joined-up solutions.
  • Engaging in business development activities, including client presentations, writing articles, responding to requests for proposals (RFPs), and exploring new business opportunities.
  • Actively and constructively contributing to team and internal meetings.

Director-Specific Responsibilities:

  • Providing input into the corporate tax team strategy, target setting, budgeting, and monitoring ongoing performance.
  • Leading or supporting special work and ad hoc assignments, including tender proposals.
  • Supporting M&A transactions, including restructuring, due diligence, and expansion overseas.
  • Delivering advisory work on a wide range of corporate and business tax issues.
  • Training staff on corporate tax matters.
  • Investigating and resolving corporate tax queries.
  • Leading or supporting corporate tax marketing and business development initiatives.
  • Taking ownership of and being fully accountable for new service or sector offerings.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Technically strong with extensive experience in corporate tax and international tax advisory.
  • Excellent client relationship and staff management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proactive and adaptable, capable of managing multiple priorities and delivering under pressure.
  • Business development interest or aptitude is a plus.
  • Solid experience in onboarding clients.
