International Partnerships Manager – Maternity Cover until 10 March 2026

Our International Office is recruiting for an International Partnerships Manager to join them on a fixed term contract to cover maternity in the team.
About the Role
- As a driven professional your focus will be on establishing and managing a broad range of international partnerships in support of the University's strategic aims, including Transnational Education, partnerships relating to student recruitment, memoranda of understanding and partnerships with other external organisations.
- As the International Partnerships Manager, you will work closely with staff at all levels, including the University's senior leadership, as well as Faculty Heads of International and academic departmental international leads as well as contacts at partner institutions and stakeholders, such as government departments, foreign missions in the UK, overseas Ministries and British diplomatic posts overseas.
- In addition to collaborating with the International Partnerships Managers within the International Partnerships Team, as well as colleagues across External Relations and the wider Professional Services Directorates, you will also work closely with academic colleagues across the University, contributing to a wide range of international partnership activity which aligns with the University's Internationalisation.
- You will represent the University during overseas visits, stakeholder, and funding meetings as well as events.
About the Team
- The International Partnerships Team is a small, busy, friendly, and professional team comprising the Head of, a Deputy Head of, three International Partnerships Managers and two International Partnerships Administrators. The postholder will report directly to the Head.
- The International Partnerships Team sits within the International Office, alongside the International Recruitment & Conversion and the International Education Services. The International Office is part of the External Relations Directorate, which includes Recruitment & Admissions, Marketing, Communications, Development & Alumni Relations and Public Affairs.
About You
- Be knowledgeable and experienced in business development, preferably in international education and/or transnational education, and the issues and context within which UK higher education operates.
- Bring demonstrable experience of creating marketing and operational plans to generate business, ideally in an education or customer service environment along with experience of pro-actively building effective working relationships.
- Prior experience of working with or providing a service to students and clients from varying backgrounds and cultures, often communicating highly complex and sensitive information.
- Possessing excellent communication, inter-personal and diplomacy skills, you will have the ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with individuals from a broad range of backgrounds and cultures.
- Be able to identify stakeholder requirements, trends and changes in circumstances, respond quickly and make recommendations to adjust plans and activities accordingly.
- Ability to research, assimilate, distil and summarise large amounts of data and information and make recommendations to inform plans and processes.
- You will be required to travel overseas when there is a business need to do so.
