Goldman Sachs Internal Auditors demonstrate strong risk and control mindsets, analytical, exercise professional scepticism, and are able to challenge and discuss effectively with management on risks and control measures. Goldman Sachs Internal Audit comprises individuals from diverse backgrounds including chartered accountants, developers, risk management professionals, cybersecurity professionals, and data scientists. We are organized into global teams comprising business and technology auditors to cover all the firm's businesses and functions, including securities, investment banking, consumer and investment management, risk management, finance, cyber-security and technology risk, and engineering.

THE ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As the third line of defence, Internal Audit's mission is to independently assess the firm's internal control structure, including the firm's governance processes and controls, and risk management and capital and anti-financial crime frameworks, raise awareness of control risk and monitor the implementation of management's control measures.

In doing so, Internal Audit perform the following duties:

  1. Communicates and reports on the effectiveness of the firm's governance, risk management and controls that mitigate current and evolving risk
  2. Raise awareness of control risk
  3. Assesses the firm's control culture and conduct risks
  4. Monitors management's implementation of control measures
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  1. Collaborate and work within the IA Asset Management team, the broader IA division and Goldman Sachs
  2. Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of business areas, its products, and supporting functions
  3. Plan and execute audit testing to ensure audit fieldwork is focused on the right areas and documentation meets high quality standards
  4. Identify risks, assess mitigating controls, and make recommendations on improving the control environment
  5. Prepare commercially effective audit conclusions and findings, and present to Internal Audit senior management and business stakeholders
  6. Follow-up on open audit issues and their resolution
  7. Participate in department-wide initiatives aimed at continually improving Internal Audit's processes and supporting infrastructure
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  1. Bachelor degree holder with 1 - 5 years of experience in either internal audit, or an independent validation function within the financial services industry or Big 4 risk advisory
  2. Strong risk and control mindset
  3. Strong verbal and written communication skills
  4. Good communicator who can manage multiple stakeholders, keen to drive consensus and influence the outcomes
  5. Excellent team player who is enthusiastic, motivated to learn and detailed oriented
  6. Highly motivated with strong analytical skills, willing and able to learn new business and system processes quickly
  7. Awareness of relevant EMEA Asset Management Regulation, including sustainable finance
