This award-winning, globally renowned Architecture, Interiors, and Master planning design practice has recently completed the concept designs for a huge international mixed-use project and urgently needs 2x Interior Designers, Interior Architects, and/or Senior Technicians to provide support on numerous interior packages, starting with the retail and hospitality phase.
With over 100 employees, this practice offers a fun, inclusive, and collaborative studio environment with exposure to large diverse teams where management is fully involved in all projects. There is no hierarchy, everyone has a voice, and they follow agile methods to deliver projects.
Successful Interior Designers, Interior Architects, and/or Senior Technicians will initially be working within a team of 6 on the Retail and Hospitality phase, tasked with supporting concept and schematic design development, technical drawing, and detailing stages. This phase spans 5 levels, including double and triple height volumes, a subterranean level, a sweeping central roof canopy, Biomes, and experiential areas. Support will be required across a broad range of interior packages, including washrooms, ancillary areas, lobbies, structural interventions, lifts, food courts, atrium spaces, individual retail spaces, and more. Lots of design details need threading and meshing to create a complete cohesive environment; therefore, an understanding of interior fit-out detailing elements such as wall/ceiling junctions, staircases, large structural interventions, and working with different materials would be helpful.
Naturally, this large and complex project demands Interior Designers, Interior Architects, and/or Senior Technicians who are adaptable to change. This is a fast-moving design that needs team members who can execute quickly and ‘see the big picture’ without getting too stuck in one detail or being resistant to change.
Interior Designers, Interior Architects, and/or Senior Technicians applying should ideally be ‘all-rounders’ with an interior-focused background, e.g., have some design flair, be able to develop concepts and schematics, have good 3D spatial awareness, and possess good technical drawing/detail skills while working on other medium to large retail or hospitality projects in a team and package production-driven environment. Additional understanding of FF&E in general would also be very helpful.
Because this phase is moving from concept design to schematic stages, the model will be built in Revit. White Space is urgently looking for 2x experienced Interior Designers, Interior Architects, and/or Senior Technicians with skills in Revit, AutoCAD, Vectorworks, and Rhino who feel capable of transitioning from other packages to Revit quickly.
The initial contract duration is 6 months with the high possibility of extensions into the next phases of this project, paying either an FTC PAYE Pro-Rata Salary or a PAYE Hourly rate.
This client offers hybrid working, typically 3 days in their East Central London office and 2 days from home, working 37.5 - 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
