Job Description

  • Lead the strategic sourcing for the Social Care department.
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure excellent service delivery.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with Public Sector regulations.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies and plans.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure procurement goals align with department objectives.
  • Monitor supplier performance and implement improvement plans when necessary.
  • Provide expert advice on procurement and supply chain matters.
  • Drive savings initiatives within the Social Care procurement category.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Interim Procurement Manager should have:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Procurement, Business, or a related field.
  • You MUST have experience in a procurement role within the Public Sector.
  • Proven track record of strategic sourcing and managing supplier relationships.
  • Excellent knowledge of procurement regulations in the Public Sector.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to develop and implement effective procurement strategies.
  • A solution-focused approach with the ability to drive improvements.

Ideally, you will have Local Authority experience as well as experience of managing procurement projects which are subject to Public Contract Regulations as a "must have". Candidates would also need to be available to start in September. Experience of working with Health and Social Care contracts is preferable but not essential.
