Interim Financial Accountant- Northampton

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Northampton team in the position of Interim Financial Accountant on a Fixed Term Basis (maternity cover).

Working within a small team but with exposure across the business, this role has a wide remit covering financial accounting, internal controls and risk management within the Group. Reporting to the Head of Financial Accounting, the team has responsibility for external financial reporting, management of external audit and technical accounting for the Group.

Your duties would include but not limited to the following:

• Authority on technical accounting and reporting matters
• Monthly consolidation and preparation of balance sheet and cash flow for the plc Board.
• Timely and accurately reporting of Group half year and year end results under IFRS and assisting with preparation of stock market announcements and annual report.
• Secure in system configuration of Data collaboration platforms, taking ownership of inward and outward process flows.
• Preparation of UK Statutory Accounts
• Co-ordinate with external auditors and company stakeholders to ensure efficient and smooth audit.
• Support with the preparation of share-based payment calculations, impairment reviews, restoration and decommissioning calculations and hedge accounting.
• Engage with and provide technical assistance to the wider finance team working to continuously improve financial reporting across the Group.
• Active role in training more junior members of the finance team.
• Support with internal control assessments and reporting for the finance team.
• Support with the reporting of budgeting and forecasting output as required by the FP&A team

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships across the business.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to engage, develop and problem solve.
• Highly analytical and detail orientated.
• Confident with data and system management.
• Strong, up to date knowledge of IFRS, FRS 101 and FRS 102.
• A qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA), ideally from a practice background.
