Job description

SF are currently recruiting for a Finance Manager on an interim basis to cover sickness (2-3 months). This role is based in North Nottingham and offers 1 day working from home and flexible working hours.

There is the potential for a permanent role to oversee the finance team and take on other duties. This would be a part-time position equal to around 2-3 days per week.

Salary: up to £45,000
Working Arrangement: 1 day working from home
Essential Experience: Must have experience in Foreign currency and Manufacturing

Job Duties:

  1. Assist in the upgrade of Sage 50 to Sage 200 scheduled to take place on 31 March.
  2. Review the workload and processes of the accounts team (Assistant Financial Accountant and Accounts Assistant), implementing improvements where applicable.
  3. Interim role will cover:
    1. Bank account reconciliations (multi-currency, multiple platforms)
    2. Some posting of bank transactions (payments and receipts)
    3. Some posting of PL invoices & expenses
    4. Processing sales invoices for floored sales inventory
    5. Processing supplier payments (multi-currency)
    6. Processing instructions to payroll bureaus on a monthly basis (UK c26 staff and US c3 staff)
    7. Quarterly VAT return (Q1 ended 31 Mar 2025)
    8. Month end processes:
      1. Accruals
      2. Prepayments
      3. Payroll journals
      4. Stock journals (multi warehouse)
      5. FAR and depreciation journals
      6. Reconcile control accounts (AP, AR, payroll, deferred incomes etc)
      7. Run first draft management accounts for management review
  4. Oversee and assist the work of the Accounts Assistant who covers SL transactions, credit control, posting of bank transactions, and posting purchase invoices and expenses.

Ideal Candidate:
  1. Must have experience in foreign currency and Manufacturing
  2. Experience with preparing Management Accounts and all Month-End duties
  3. Immediately available or on short notice
  4. Open to qualified by experience, AAT or CIMA/ACCA
