Interim Data Protection Officer / Information Governance Manager

An exciting interim opportunity has arisen for a Data Protection Officer to join a Local Authority in the Northwest.

Duties:

1. Provide strategic data protection leadership for the council in order to ensure compliance with data protection legislation.
2. Manage the Information Governance and Data Protection teams at the council.
3. Act as the single point of contact for the Council with UK Regulators.
4. Act as a point of contact for sector specific Regulators.
5. Lead on seeking assurance of compliance with data protection legislation.
6. Lead and manage the investigation of personal data breaches, or other breach of the legislation.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the statutory Data Protection position of a public sector organisation and/or management experience.

Start: ASAP

Duration: 3 months initially, with scope to extend.

Working Arrangement: Full-time; Fully remote.

Rate: Dependant on experience; Umbrella.
