An established industry player is seeking an interim Communications Manager to fill a critical gap in their team. This role offers the flexibility of part-time or full-time hours, allowing candidates to work remotely while occasionally visiting the office. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing communications strategies and mentoring the team. Proficiency in English is essential, and knowledge of additional languages like French, Spanish, or Bahasa Indonesia is highly valued. If you're passionate about communications and ready to make an impact, this opportunity is perfect for you.
The Forest Peoples Programme ( www.forestpeoples.org ) – an international human rights organisation that works with indigenous peoples and forest peoples - is looking for an interim Communications Manager / Head of Communications for 3 to 6 months (while recruiting for a longer term position), with an immediate start, to support a capacity gap within our Communications team.
We will consider part-time or full-time proposals, with a minimum of 3 days a week. We prefer someone based in the UK, but will consider applications from others +/-2 hours from the UK timezone who would have a right to work in their location under a short-term UK consultancy contract. The contract can be completed on a fully remote basis, although we would prefer someone willing to make occasional visits to our office in Moreton-in-Marsh, and/or travel internationally to support events, if required.
Candidates must have native or completely proficient English (written and oral) - other language skills (especially French, Spanish or Bahasa Indonesia) would be highly regarded.
The role would include both oversight and coordination of the overall communications work, including strategic input and guidance, along with the mentoring of the team. There may also be some stand-alone specific communications deliverables to take on.
