Job Description:

At OSL Consulting Engineers, we’re rewriting the rules of Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC). As the consulting division of nexos, the UK’s most digitally advanced and fully integrated EPC provider, we’re pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the world of next-gen energy.

We believe that different thinking leads to different results—and better ones at that. That’s why we challenge the conventional and strive to break the mould. With a focus on innovation, partnerships, and problem-solving, we deliver operational reality for energy projects, unlocking new levels of operational and commercial efficiencies for our clients.

As a growing business, we recognize that it’s our people who make us great. We're always on the lookout for talented individuals to join our team and contribute to our mission of redefining the EPC landscape. If you’re ready for an environment where bold ideas are encouraged, where your contributions are valued, and where you can grow and develop, OSL is the place for you.

What You'll Do:

We’re looking for an experienced C&I Engineer to join our Hessle-based team, where you’ll play a crucial role in delivering high-quality solutions for complex projects across a variety of industries. Reporting to the Lead C&I Engineer, you’ll work alongside a multidisciplinary engineering team to create and deliver exceptional results. Here’s a glimpse into your day-to-day:

  • Precision Design: Take charge of creating high-level technical drawings and documentation, including calculations, ensuring every detail meets our rigorous standards, with minimal supervision.
  • Leadership & Guidance: Lead project teams (as needed) and provide clear direction on technical documentation requirements, while mentoring and guiding team members.
  • Collaboration & Review: Review documents produced by other disciplines, providing insightful and constructive feedback to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Project Progress & Reporting: Provide weekly progress updates to the Lead Engineer, highlighting milestones and ensuring that tasks are on track for successful delivery.
  • Client Interaction: Act as a key technical liaison with clients, both on-site and off-site, for progress reporting and to provide engineering insights.
  • Vendor Validation: Review and validate vendor documentation, drawings, datasheets, and specifications, ensuring correctness and alignment with project standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Always on the lookout for ways to improve processes, systems, and personal performance, sharing your ideas with the team to drive operational excellence.
  • Up-to-Date Expertise: Stay ahead of industry trends, ensuring you’re well-versed in the latest technical developments, national/international standards, and legislative requirements.

What We’re Looking For:

We’re seeking a driven and talented C&I Engineer with the right combination of technical expertise and a passion for innovation. If you have the following qualifications and experience, we’d love to hear from you:

  • Education: An HNC / HND in Instrumentation & Control (or equivalent experience).
  • Professional Growth: Membership with a professional body, and actively working toward chartership (or already chartered).
  • Industry Experience: A minimum of 2 years in the Oil & Gas or other high-hazard industries, ideally having worked across all stages of a project (Concept/Feasibility, FEED, and Detailed Design).
  • Technical Expertise: Proven experience in producing high-quality technical drawings and documents with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Collaborative Mindset: Strong communication skills and a team-focused approach, with the ability to work effectively with clients, vendors, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Problem Solver: A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset that looks for continuous improvement and innovation in every task.

Why Choose OSL?

At OSL, you’ll be joining a dynamic team that values creativity, bold ideas, and continuous learning. We offer flexibility, career development, and an environment that encourages disruptive thinking. If you’re ready to shape the future of energy through innovative engineering solutions, we want you on our team.
