Instrument Technician – Peterborough

PE Global is recruiting an Instrumentation Technician for our manufacturing client based in Peterborough. The role is an initial 12-month contract and the rate range for this role is £16.35 – £22.19 p/h.

Responsibilities:

1. Ensuring quality data capture from machines and ensuring meeting ISO standards.
2. Implement Data Acquisition solutions to support testing of various powertrains to engineering requirements.
3. Operate a multitude of different off-highway vehicles including but not limited to, Hydraulic Excavators, Backhoe Loaders, Telehandlers, Track Type Tractors where required.
4. Diagnose and fix a range of faults in data logging systems and sensors.
5. Work from engineering electrical drawings.
6. Produce electrical looms to interface powertrains to machine.
7. Travel to various off-site test and development facilities both CAT owned and 3rd Party (some overseas).
8. Keep the work area clean, tidy, and safe in line with 5S and total preventative maintenance (TPM).

Requirements:

1. The ability to read, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions/procedures.
2. The ability to work closely with others is imperative, requiring team participation to achieve the agreed objectives.
3. A working knowledge of instrumentation and its application.
4. You will possess effective communication skills to liaise with various levels of the organization.
5. Have a fully flexible approach to the job role & responsibilities.
6. Prepared to undertake required training/learning.
7. Applicants will ideally have instrumentation and or data acquisition experience.
8. Working towards or completed some form of relevant higher education (NVQ Level 3).
9. Good PC skills ability to use Microsoft Office.
