Job description

Our client is a leading investment management house who due to continued business success, are looking to recruit an institutional Sales Director to work alongside the Head of Institutional to create and deliver on asset growth strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead on consultant relations in order to gain new ratings and maintain existing ones: create and deliver consultant strategy; proactively communicate with key contacts; prepare and attend meetings.
  2. Direct sales in the cross-channel institutional market – build new relationships and develop the opportunity pipeline, analyze market intelligence and reflect on areas of focus, oversee RFPs and attend pitches.
  3. Account Director responsibilities for existing client relationships, taking advantage of cross-selling opportunities.
  4. Work closely with the marketing team to adapt messaging and materials for the institutional market and build their profile with the target market.
  5. Attend industry events and conferences.
  6. Ensuring all client and business development activities are recorded accurately in Salesforce.
  7. Identify and coordinate the implementation of efficiency gains, both within the team and with other teams, to help support clients more effectively.

Candidate Profile:

  1. Proven sales experience including gaining ratings from investment consultants.
  2. Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
  3. Advanced knowledge of investments; understanding of the business’ strategies and ability to articulate them; understanding of the institutional investment sector [CFA/MBA highly desirable].
  4. Professionalism, integrity and experience dealing with sophisticated investors.
  5. Good time management and organisational skills.
  6. Collaborative approach within the broader distribution team.
  7. Experience in dealing with international clients would be beneficial.
