Job Description:

About You

Are you a technician looking for a new challenge? Would you like to make a difference at manufacturer level? Would you like to maintain a work-life balance whilst not being expected to work most evenings and weekends? Can you mix working under your own initiative whilst also following a process? Are you a good communicator, able to explain technical situations in a way that non-technical people can understand? If so, this could be the role for you.

About the Role

  • Reporting to: Service Coordinator
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8-5pm with some overtime available

We’re looking for a candidate to work in our UK logistics and preparation centre. The machines are delivered here before being distributed to our dealer network. Day-to-day you will be conducting inspections on these machines to ensure that we deliver the best possible product to our UK network and their customers. If any issues are found, you will be involved with both repair and factory reporting to ensure product improvement.

This is an on-site role near Lambourn Woodlands, Berkshire and is a new role for the business. It’s an evolving role with plenty of opportunity for the right candidate.

You’ll need your own tools though we’ll provide any manufacturer special tools. We’ll also provide a phone and laptop plus the electronic control diagnostic tools.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proven experience in an Agricultural or Construction technician role. Applicants from overlapping industries would also be welcomed, including automotive or commercial vehicles.
  • Ability to conduct both routine work and inspections but also diagnose and carry out more complicated repairs.
  • Basic level of IT ability required. Training will be provided on Merlo systems. Ability to type, use a smartphone and laptop, and be able to learn new systems.
  • LOLER or other inspection experience desirable but not essential.
  • Experience with manufacturer warranty reporting essential. Knowledge and experience of providing the proper information for warranty claims (from a technician’s perspective) required.
  • Ability to work independently and also as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving licence.

  • Ongoing training and development – we have our own training facilities so can deliver first class training to the new starter. This might work the other way round sometimes too – as new products are released you may be one of the first to see them in the UK.
  • Excellent company pension contribution.
  • Career progression. We have a proven track record of staff growing and progressing within our business.
  • 31 days holiday (including bank holidays).
  • Salary £40k+ for the right candidate.
