Inpatient Physiotherapist (Bank) Derby Hospital | Physiotherapy | Bank contract - Ad hoc | Includes Weekends
Up to £22.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Working on the bank means you are not contracted to a set number of hours per week but instead work on an ad-hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and your availability. Our Physiotherapy team at Derby hospital currently have an opportunity for a Bank Physiotherapist, working within our inpatients department.

Main duties of the job

As an Inpatient Physiotherapist you will be responsible for providing high quality care and rehabilitation for a variety of post-operative elective orthopaedic, breast and pelvic health type patients, in line with our treatment protocols. You will work within a multidisciplinary team including nurses and consultants in order to optimise the health and recovery of our post-operative patients. As a Physiotherapist you will:

  • Deliver high quality, effective, and clinically reasoned care to meet our patient's needs.

  • Be compliant with all professional, clinical and integrated governance standards and participate in clinical audit and other quality assurance processes.

About us

Nuffield Health Derby Hospital is a modern, purpose-built hospital with 38 en-suite beds, three operating theatres, and together with a comprehensive range of outpatient services. The Radiology department is a small but busy department covering general radiographic procedures, theatre, ultrasound, MRI and CT. Set in beautiful grounds, we're about 3 miles from the city centre, within easy reach of all major roads and bus routes.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Have a BSc (or equivalent) in Physiotherapy and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council/Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years' post-graduate experience in an NHS Hospital/Private Hospital or an equivalent setting, demonstrating thorough/robust experience of Inpatient Orthopaedics.
  • Demonstrate evidence of further professional training and continual professional development, reflecting your desire to develop as a practitioner.

Essential Skills

  • Be a confident communicator with the ability to engage effectively with the general public and other healthcare professionals.
  • Be a competent and confident IT user.
  • Have the ability to prioritise and deal with a varied workload in an effective and timely manner.
  • Be able to commit to regular weekend working and occasional weekday based training.
