Job description

Based from 55 St John St, London EC1M 4AN

This role will work predominantly from our London office but will be required to travel to our Milton Keynes Warehouse location as needed.

Responsibilities
  1. Maintains profitable vendor relations to secure applicable Ingram Content Group UK Ltd. (“ICG”) content and recommend service offerings.
  2. Identifies, analyzes, and negotiates procurement of physical inventory.
  3. Makes buying decisions on content for the target group of publishers assigned.
  4. Works with assigned publishers to ensure that ICG has all available titles represented and assures ICG data is accurate and up-to-date (includes pricing, format, publication date, subject category, and availability) for assigned publishers’ data.
  5. Evaluates ICG’s financial exposure with each assigned publisher monthly and decides whether ICG will issue payment to the publisher and, if so, how much will be paid.
  6. Analyzes and reviews current publisher activities within the ICG service offerings and evaluates and recommends business opportunities to match services to vendor short-term and long-term goals.
  7. Partners with the ICG team to present and sell a range of products and services to vendors.
  8. Participates in strategic business review discussions based on critical analysis and makes recommendations that will drive profitability.
  9. Ensures the efficient and accurate use of technology to procure, forecast new and reorder inventory needs, allocations, returns, and transfers from within company overstock.
  10. Analyzes various vendor activity reports for key performance indicators and recommends activities to ensure enhanced financial performance and profit contribution.
  11. Maintains regular contact with all sales channels within ICG with the objective of ensuring sales channel satisfaction with product-related issues.
  12. Ensures vendors are engaged in the appropriate ICG Products and Services.
  13. Understands key marketing initiatives and opportunities with publishers and ICG marketing. Makes recommendations when needed and appropriate.
  14. Communicates relevant market information to sales and marketing channels. Ensures that information on high-profile titles is disseminated appropriately at Ingram and to our customers.
  15. Reviews vendor P&L statements to ensure maximum profitability regularly.
  16. Resolves and communicates resolution of Vendor issues, both internally and externally.
  17. Directs vendor activities to meet strategic goals and objectives. Analyzes and leads the activity to address key measurement results and develops processes to improve business relationships.
Minimum Requirements
  1. Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent B2B Management experience in either publishing, wholesale, or retail bookselling.
  2. Minimum 3 years progressive experience in 3 or more of the following: Team Management, Purchasing, Sales, Distribution, Inventory Management, Project Management, and maintaining significant supplier relationships.

Additional Responsibilities
  1. Work closely with the content acquisition team concentrating on maximizing new customer acquisition and setup of new print-on-demand titles from publishers across publishing segments.
  2. Manage a portfolio of customers in order to maximize their value in terms of print unit revenue and margin as agreed in sales budget and forecasts.
  3. Work closely with Global Customer/Client Services team and the US Sales team on global accounts to support international growth.
  4. Work with the Marketing department to generate leads and to set up meetings with target organizations.
  5. Negotiate pricing and contracts with reference to the Deal Forms process as appropriate.
  6. Understand and be able to demonstrate the key digital products and services of relevance to the territories and markets assigned.
  7. Make cold calls and presentations to target leads and manage the sales process to account opening and signed contracts.
  8. Participate in planning and implementation with publishers through to contract signature stage, following agreed protocols for contract negotiation.
  9. Attend trade events.
  10. Regularly report on activities and completed sales across the range of solutions & provide regular customer, competitor, and market feedback to management as required.
Minimum Requirements
  1. 3-5 years’ experience in sales OR book industry.
  2. College / University degree preferred.

Based from Pitfield, Kiln Farm, Milton Keynes MK11, UK – with remote work option

Integration Responsibilities
  1. Responsible for the integration of publishers by coordinating integration activities for CoreSource clients.
  2. Communicates timelines and project plans to publishers and manages the effectiveness of the plan, during the set-up phase and on an as-needed basis, recommending changes as necessary.
  3. Manages key customer accounts and coordinates and communicates all issues between CoreSource and a publisher and tracks issue resolution to completion, until the publisher’s account stabilizes.
  4. Maintains a positive attitude and fosters a positive customer experience, while meeting or exceeding the customers’ expectations.
Minimum Requirements
  1. Bachelor’s degree in business or directly related year-for-year experience.
  2. 1 year of industry experience.
  3. 2 years of customer service experience.
