We are looking to welcome an experienced Infrastructure Solutions Architect IT Security to our team. Were looking for an experienced individual to help us to provide detailed design to internal teams and customers. You will work across all aspects of enterprise and solution architecture for both new and existing products and systems. This role requires experience with both cloud and on-premises architectures.

In the IT Security domain, the Architect is additionally responsible for designing, building, testing and implementing security systems within the organisation. The role involves having a thorough understanding of complex IT systems and stay up to date with the latest security standards, systems and authentication protocols, as well as best practice security products and regulations.

The role can be based at our Headoffice in Market Drayton, Shropshire or East Kilbride, Scotland.

Your challenge for the Infrastructure Solutions Architect IT Security

  1. Lead in designing and developing the FSA (Future State Architecture) and maintaining the CSA (Current State Architecture).
  2. Production of high-level technical designs incl. definition of features, phases and solution requirements.
  3. Support and provide coordination of low-level technical designs with designated SME(s) (Subject Matter Expert).
  4. Provide specifications according to which the solutions are defined, managed and delivered.
  5. Provide documentation of architecture for new and existing projects and solutions.
  6. Responsible for domain Lifecycle Management for New and Existing solutions.
  7. Adopt to TOGAF methodology as implemented by Enterprise Architecture practice.
  8. Responsible for definition of solution standards (TOGAF technical principles) within the specified domain.
  9. Ensure that all new solutions are not only fit for purpose but are cost effective.
  10. Strategic Development of IT Vision into Domain RoadMap; responsible for creation and regular maintenance of domain RoadMap, ensuring synchronisation with the business and other domains.
  11. Responsible for monitoring Current State Architecture/solutions to ensure they remain efficient to meet business needs.
  12. Describe the structure, characteristics, behaviour, and other aspects of the solutions to project stakeholders and engage with key stakeholders and application owners throughout project lifecycles.
  13. Ability to negotiate with key stakeholders to ensure that defined technical standards are maintained.
  14. Facilitate in the communication of technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  15. Support the transition and transformation of new solutions into operations (live environment).
  16. Ensure all solutions meet customers needs while maintaining pre-defined standards.
  17. Responsible for Lifecycle Management Planning to ensure that any solutions with end of life are planned with replacement.
  18. Support solution testing - e.g. Proof of Concept - to ensure initial requirements are fulfilled.
  19. Ensure that all new solutions considered are ratified before transition into production.

Responsibilities

  1. Accountable for designing and engineering of security solutions.
  2. Reviewing current system security measures and recommending and implementing enhancements.
  3. Conducting regular system tests and ensuring continuous monitoring of network security.
  4. Conducting threat and vulnerability analysis as part of the security design and solution engineering process.
  5. Define, implement and maintain a coherent set of technical architectures; (including principles, policies, standards, roadmaps and strategies).
  6. Deliver project work (both strategic and tactical) in compliance with relevant technical architectures, ensuring solutions are successfully delivered and fit for purpose.
  7. Developing project timelines for ongoing system upgrades.
  8. Ensuring all personnel have access to the IT system limited by need and role.
  9. Establishing disaster recovery procedures and conducting breach of security drills.
  10. Provide technical consultancy to infrastructure and development teams where necessary to assist with project delivery and/or problem resolution.
  11. Promptly responding to all security incidents and providing thorough post-event analyses.
  12. Actively research and monitor technological developments that would improve IT within Muller by reducing cost and/or improving functionality in line with business requirements.

Key skills & experience for the Infrastructure Solutions Architect IT Security

  1. Technical college degree.
  2. Strong understanding of IT security including application and infrastructure design in a sizable corporation environment.
  3. Solid experience in project management and daily IT operation support.
  4. Good understanding of IT Governance and Risk Management.
  5. Solid understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorisation and security.
  6. Good working knowledge of current IT risks and experience implementing security solutions.
  7. Experience implementing multi-factor authentication, single sign-on, identity management or related technologies.
  8. Security Certificates in CISM, CISA, CISSP, CEH, ISO27000 / 27001 or equivalent.
  9. Ability to interact with a broad cross-section of personnel to explain and enforce security measures.
  10. Strong ability to develop ad-hoc reports.
  11. Significant experience in leading and developing a team.
  12. Strong stakeholder management skills.
  13. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Careful attention to detail.
  14. Excellent written and spoken English, German would be considered as benefit.
  15. Willingness to travel.
  16. Participate in the OnCall team rota.
