Job description

My client is looking for a Civil Infrastructure Engineer to join their team based in Glasgow. Candidates will have as much of the following experience as possible:

  1. BEng/MEng degree in Civil Engineering
  2. Industry experience in appropriate Civil Engineering design
  3. Near / or chartered with ICE preferable
  4. Experience in variety of project types: commercial / retail / industrial / residential / leisure etc (Civils associated with Building structures type developments preferable)
  5. Experience in the use of Micro Drainage / Info Drainage
  6. Comfortable with developing drainage strategy schemes
  7. Comfortable with reviewing existing / proposed levels and earthworks / cut + fill estimates
  8. Experience using Civils 3D preferable
  9. Comfortable with reviewing SI reports / incorporating findings into design proposals
  10. Experience in the design of roads including section 56 / RCC applications
  11. Experience in dealing with Scottish Water - PDE applications / From B's etc
  12. Experience in producing drainage strategy & flood risk statement reports in support of planning
  13. Experience dealing with SEPA
  14. Commercial awareness / Experience in working with clients directly preferable
  15. Open to gaining structural engineering design experience (with support / training)
  16. Friendly approach, keen to learn and also mentor others
  17. Proactive and keen to progress their career
  18. Would fit in with company ethos / culture

Role & Responsibilities:

  1. The day to day responsibility/running of applicable projects.
  2. Working with / supporting Project Engineers, Assistant/Graduate Engineers Technicians and Technical staff.
  3. Ensuring that the preparation of all design calculations, detail drawings, specifications, reports and health and safety aspects are in accordance with Client requirements and National Standards.
  4. Implementation of Project Quality Plans.
  5. Implementation of the Company's Quality Management System.
  6. Control, issue and updating of all drawings and documentation in accordance with the Quality Management System.
  7. Monitoring the activities of Technicians and Drafting staff.
  8. Attendance of all relevant Client, Design Team and Site meetings.
