Infrastructure Engineer

We are currently seeking an Infrastructure Engineer who is adept at problem-solving and has a keen interest in technology. The candidate should be able to manage both network and server infrastructure in a busy and ever-evolving environment.

Description

1. Ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the company's IT Infrastructure.
2. Identifying, documenting, and solving technical issues related to network and server infrastructure.
3. Evaluating and modifying system performance.
4. Assessing and upgrading existing technologies to better serve the organisation.
5. Handling multiple complex projects simultaneously.
6. Collaborating with the technology team to align infrastructure with business goals.
7. Developing and implementing IT standards and procedures to aid in the management of resources.
8. Contributing to disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

Minimum Requirements

1. 2+ years' previous experience in a similar role.
2. Experience with 3 or more of the following technologies:

• Management and configuration of Microsoft Windows Server (inc. AD, DNS, IIS and SQL Server)
• Microsoft 365 (inc. Entra, Intune, Exchange Online, Defender)
• Deployment and configuration of Microsoft Windows and Apple macOS endpoints
• Networking technologies (Switches, Firewalls, ZTNA solutions)
• Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS (especially for website hosting)
• VMware vSphere configuration
• Management and configuration of Linux servers (especially Debian-based)
• Veeam Backup solutions
• CDN management (e.g. Cloudflare)
• Patch Management Software

Profile

Responsibilities

1. Monitoring, maintaining, and extending our existing multi-site hybrid VMware and Azure infrastructure.
2. Deploying and configuring Windows and Linux virtual machines.
3. Supporting and configuring user endpoints and office infrastructure.
4. Supporting and configuring backup operations.
5. Fulfilling firewall change requests.
6. Maintaining the security of our environments.
7. Managing client solutions on public cloud infrastructure.
8. Occasional out-of-hours maintenance and support.
