IT Manager

Location: Cheltenham - Hybrid

Overview

We are currently recruiting an IT Manager for a leading provider of digital transformation solutions in the security and defence sectors.

The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience tackling various hardware and software problems. They should be comfortable providing technology solutions to employees and working closely with third party software companies to adopt new technologies and efficiently use existing ones. This candidate should have prior experience working with information technology and understand the latest technology trends to ensure the technology in place is up to date.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee, maintain, and improve the technologies utilised by all staff.
2. Provide IT support to the business, including managing IT-related products and facilitating the renewal of certifications and licenses.
3. Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot Microsoft 365 services such as Entra ID, Exchange Online/On-Prem, SharePoint, Teams, and Intune.
4. Ensure the maintenance and advancement of our clients IT infrastructure and cybersecurity to meet future demands.
5. Assist with IT development projects by offering advice and recommendations to enhance system performance and reliability.
6. Develop and maintain scripts for provisioning, user management, and reporting.
7. Configure and maintain devices, providing training as needed.
8. Draft and manage IT and information security documentation to support our clients certifications and accreditations.
9. Manage user accounts and permissions, ensuring data integrity and security.
10. Perform other ad-hoc technical and commercial tasks to support the wider team.

Skills/Experience:

1. Experience operating within secure environments e.g. Security or Defence
2. Previous experience in IT administration or a related role.
3. Proven expertise in systems and network administration, user support, and Microsoft O365.
4. A team player with an approachable and helpful demeanour.
5. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
6. Capability to manage multiple projects and prioritise tasks effectively.
7. Experience in installing and managing IT hardware and software.
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
9. Strong time-management skills with a keen eye for detail.
