Job Title: Information Security Consultant

Contract Type: Permanent, Fulltime

Location: Bradford, Petersfield, Chatham

Working Pattern: Hybrid-typically a couple of days a week in the office. Part-time or flexible arrangements are considered to support work-life balance. The Role:

You and Your Team:

As an Information Security Consultant at Vanquis, you will play a key role in developing and implementing Information Security Governance and consultancy services. You will ensure the Group meets both current and emerging security and compliance requirements while aligning with industry standards and financial regulatory expectations.

This role requires a deep understanding of Information Security Governance and Assurance frameworks, as well as staying up to date with evolving regulations, best practices, and security consultancy guidance.

As an Information Security Consultant, some of the key responsibilities are:

• Providing advice and guidance on how to minimise the impact of potential threats to assets and services
• Liaising with potential or current partners and suppliers to evaluate the information security levels of the company or services
• Managing requests for security waivers
• Reviewing new 3rd party applications for possible security risks
• Supporting compliance activities for regulators and contractual requirements
• Management of information security policies and standards
• Ensuring controls implemented in production systems are operating as designed to mitigate known risks
• Creating suitable security training material and ad hoc messages alerting staff to new threats. Supporting the monitoring of the effectiveness of security training and identifying and implementing improvements.

What We're Looking For:

• Strong experience in information security, with a solid understanding of governance, risk, and compliance.
• Hands-on knowledge of regulatory compliance and information security management frameworks, such as ISO 27000, COBIT, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and other industry standards.
• A team-focused mentality with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
• An ability to communicate technical issues to diverse audiences, orally and in writing, in an easily understood, authoritative, and actionable manner.
• A professional certification such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
