This is a highly collaborative position, acting as the primary point of contact for information governance matters across ICR projects, including data protection, records management, and compliance guidance.

A core responsibility will be to provide dedicated Information Governance support to the ERP implementation project 'Stratus'. This involves working closely with colleagues in HR, Finance, Research Management, Digital Services, and the Stratus Programme team to ensure that all data processing activities are compliant with GDPR and ICR's Information Governance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Act as a visible and accessible point of contact for Information Governance, representing the team in programme and stakeholder meetings alongside the Head of Information Governance.
  2. Support ICR projects in completing Data Protection Checklists and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).
  3. Provide practical advice on data protection and records management, with a focus on identifying risks and embedding privacy by design and default.
  4. Maintain and coordinate the register of DPIAs, advising on risk areas and innovative mitigation strategies. Record associated risks, recommendations, and decisions, and follow up with project leads.
  5. Collaborate with Procurement to ensure third-party contracts meet Information Governance requirements.
  6. Develop and implement records management standards for digital platforms including Stratus, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams.
  7. Support the Head of Information Governance in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Information Governance policies and procedures-engaging stakeholders across the organisation and seeking legal input as needed.
  8. Work with Project Managers to ensure robust data protection controls are embedded in line with legal obligations and individual data rights.
  9. Offer expert advice and guidance on all Information Governance matters to project teams across ICR.
  10. Contribute to the improvement of internal processes within the Information Governance team, supporting more efficient and compliant ways of working.

  2. Proven track record in delivering data protection advice within a mid-to-large-sized organisation.
  3. Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  4. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  5. Confident using Microsoft Office tools, especially Teams, SharePoint, and Excel.
