We have a brand-new role at Newmedica for an Information Governance Manager. This role will lead our efforts to ensure compliance with data protection laws and promote efficient use of information across our organisation. This dedicated role will offer the opportunity to shape and drive the Information Governance agenda across the entire company.
As our Information Governance Manager, you'll be at the heart of our data protection and information governance (IG) activities. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include leading IG work programmes and assisting with organisational IG procedures. It will be a real mix of taking the strategic lead alongside rolling up your sleeves and undertaking operational hands-on activity.
You will participate in information governance meetings and conduct annual IG audits, as well as designing and delivering IG training sessions. Additionally, you will review Data Protection Impact Assessments, Data Sharing and Processing Agreements.
Acting as the Data Protection Officer, you will ensure compliance with GDPR and other data protection legislation. You will also advise colleagues on policies and procedures, implement NHS England directives related to IG, and ensure our arrangements meet national and statutory standards.
Collecting evidence for annual DSPT submissions, developing and maintaining policies and procedures, and monitoring compliance with mandatory IG training for all staff are also key aspects of the role. Furthermore, you will provide regular IG briefings and updates, advise on IG requirements for new service provisions, liaise with technology teams on IG issues, and understand and advise on the impacts of AI tools on IG.
