About the Role We’re seeking a skilled Information Architect & Content Strategist to support and develop a robust structured content ecosystem, with a focus on DITA-based authoring and publishing workflows. This is a hands-on, strategic role that blends content operations with engineering, aimed at enabling scalable, efficient, and user-centered content delivery. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams of authors, developers, and publishing engineers to optimise transformation workflows, evolve content tools, and improve architecture and taxonomy systems. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a background in technical writing, content strategy, or publishing systems who has grown into a more technical, systems-focused role.
Key Responsibilities
Design and maintain scalable structured content workflows and transformation pipelines.
Optimize authoring environments and publishing frameworks (e.g., Oxygen XML).
Train and support internal teams on tooling, taxonomy, and structured authoring best practices.
Ensure consistent use of metadata and taxonomy aligned with business needs.
Collaborate with content teams to align tooling with audience-focused content strategy.
Respond to internal feedback and implement improvements across the publishing ecosystem.
Support governance efforts around structured content, tooling, and system maintenance.
Contribute to long-term innovation strategy in content delivery and system scalability.
Required Skills & Experience Professional Background
Minimum 5 years' experience in documentation tooling, information architecture, or structured content strategy.
Experience working across content and technical teams in a collaborative environment.
Technical Expertise
Advanced knowledge of DITA, DITA-OT, XML, XSLT, CSS, and Oxygen XML Editor.
Familiarity with Git and version control workflows.
Experience creating and maintaining publishing templates and transformation pipelines.
Scripting or automation experience with Python, TypeScript, or Shell/Bash.
Solid foundation in structured authoring, topic-based writing, and modular content reuse.
Interpersonal & Strategic Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication, especially with technical audiences.
Strong facilitation, onboarding, and internal support capabilities.
Capable of managing priorities and responding quickly to changing team needs.
