Responsibilities
  1. Act as the focal point for Program and Operations Managers, interfacing with engineering and company technical experts.
  2. Support all internal and outsourced operations for SEPUK, sharing and developing best practices across the site and division.
  3. Provide approval for manufacturing engineering processes including SPC, PFMEA, and technical work instructions.
  4. Liaise with suppliers for product and/or process information and development.
  5. Lead process improvement and product industrialisation activities, championing PFMEA's, control plans, risk assessments, DVI, and PPAP.
  6. Follow and review the product industrialisation through each stage of its life cycle.
  7. Participate in or lead DFM and DTC planning reviews (internal and external).
  8. Analyse process non-compliance and adjust the PFMEA & Control plan accordingly.
  9. Carry out internal & external process audits and manage corrective action plans.
  10. Define critical values in accordance with Engineering requirements.
  11. Participate in defining the industrial test strategy internally and within the supply chain.
  12. Define, follow, and execute the industrial development planning.
  13. Monitor and confirm traceability requirements.
  14. Define and create packaging specifications for the product throughout its life cycle.
  15. Participate in the creation and authoring of technical and process specifications.
  16. Validate specifications and contribute to risk & compliance matrix.
  17. Participate in trade-off discussions with stakeholders.
  18. Identify and provide cost-saving initiatives to consolidate the DTC approach.
  19. Initiate cost down and variation reduction activities through statistical process control and test yield improvement activities.
  20. Support the creation of strategic road maps proposing and justifying capital investments.
  21. Lead the deployment of process improvement activities including the verification and qualification of new tools and practices.
  22. Deploy maintenance and calibration strategies for key machines, tools, and gauges.
  23. Validate standard times for operations to support business cost modeling.

  2. Facilitate and provide effective technical support of processes to operations throughout production.

Job Requirements
  1. Experience in a complex and dynamic component manufacturing or engineering environment with NPI and concurrent engineering experience preferred.
  2. HNC / HND in mechanical, electronics, or Production Engineering or equivalent experience.
  3. Experience acting as a focal point for technologies and processes.
  4. Ability to challenge design and manufacturing techniques to ensure DFM and DTC requirements are met.
  5. Broad production engineering experience including cost down, design for manufacture/assembly/test techniques.
  6. Proven ability to champion and lead investigations, process capability assessments & improvements.
  7. Solid communicator, able to influence effectively at all levels through written reports and presentations.
  8. Ability to problem-solve and accurately analyse technical data.
  9. Experience identifying opportunity and leading process improvement activities.
  10. Customer-focused mindset (internal and external).
  11. Understanding of Statistical Process Control, Process FMEA's, DFM & DTC activities.
  12. Able to lead and work effectively as part of a multi-disciplined team and deliver to tight deadlines.
  13. Experience in building strong relationships within a supply base to develop solutions.
  14. Working knowledge of legislative requirements including REACH and HSE; Computer Literate (MS Office).
