The Opportunity

We are an award winning, British product design consultancy with over 30 years experience. We service a wide variety of industries and clients, but our core business lies within the juvenile/nursery sector. The products we develop tend to reach production and launch into the market, so we see the fruits of our hard work. We strive for industrial design excellence and engineering quality in all our projects.

About the role:

As a product designer, you will be expected to contribute to various phases of the product development process. This is a unique opportunity for a talented, motivated individual to join a company with a strong reputation and an influx of projects to work on. We are seeking someone with proven ability, backed up by a portfolio of work from live projects.

You will work on projects for a broad range of international clients, applying your knowledge to conceptualise and develop innovative product solutions to a high level of design excellence.

This is a studio-based role, albeit with some flexibility for WFH. The chosen candidate will be expected to attend the office most days.

Skills and Experience:

1. 1-5 years experience within a studio or in-house, or a graduate with internships/placement experience
2. Proven ability to execute and deliver projects into the market
3. Strong sketch ability with a portfolio displaying your talent
4. Demonstrable skill at creating visually compelling concepts and presentations
5. Understanding of mass-manufacturing processes and their limitations
6. Strong CAD competency (ideally Solidworks)
7. Capable of working around mechanical constraints, and ideally able to propose new mechanical solutions
8. An eye for detail, while also able to see the big picture
9. Able to manage multiple projects, timelines, and client communication
10. A team player, ready to share in the demands of a small business
11. Willingness to learn and collaborate with others

Other requirements:

1. Must be a UK resident or possess a UK working visa
2. Valid passport and a willingness to travel overseas as required by projects
3. Clean driving license and own means of transport is essential due to our rural location

Qualifications:

A degree in Industrial/Product Design/Design Engineering
