Our Industrial Placements are open to university students who are looking to complete a 12-month industrial placement in their third year of university. Our 12 months placements offer students the opportunity to gain real work experience in an area of our business. You will build commercial acumen and technical expertise through practical, first-hand experience in the front line of our business operations. We’re looking for students who have a passion for logistics, and want to gain real-life experience in a fast paced and complex logistics environment. If you’re ambitious, driven, and eager to show what you can do, this is a great way to start your career in logistics.

Your Role

You will be working within the team responsible for providing capacity and rates to all our internal customers, this will either be managing already pre booked space or negotiating new rates for one off bookings with airlines. You will be making decisions that ensures their freight moves within the customers required timeframes at the rate agreed with them. You will produce the relevant documentation and work with various departments such as transport and warehouse to ensure the shipments have all they need to make their planned journey. You will be mentored and trained throughout your placement to ensure you gain the right skills and knowledge to complete the tasks confidently while contributing to the achievement of organisational goals adding fresh perspectives and ideas whilst collaborating with industry professionals. This experience not only enhances your academic learning but also helps build key skills such as communication, teamwork and preparing you for future career aspirations.

Your Responsibilities

Over the 12 months you’ll be learning how to…

1. Build strong relationships with all stakeholders and UK Branch colleagues
2. Work with airlines to negotiate rates and capacity
3. Consolidation planning
4. Produce and prepare documents for the transit of cargo
5. Produce customs declaration
6. Security check and issue security certificates
7. Work closely with warehouse & Transport colleagues
8. Import Truck Planning/Optimisation
9. High level of communication with Frankfurt, Amsterdam & UK Branches

Your Skills and Experiences

The minimum entry requirement for this placement is to be currently enrolled in a degree program with the option for a third-year placement.

Our company values candidates who are passionate about providing excellent customer service, have a strong work ethic, and are able to communicate effectively with others. Good planning and organization skills is important and you will need the ability to multitask and be a self-starter.

Previous use of Microsoft Outlook and Excel is beneficial.

SECURITY VETTING REQUIRED: This position requires enhanced security clearance checks and by applying for this role you are agreeing to participate in the employment screening process. This process will include criminal record checking and identify validation. Any appointment will be strictly condition upon and subject to the receipt of satisfactory results of these checks.

This position is not available to individuals currently studying or completing a master’s degree.

• Placement Contract: 8th September 2025 – 10th September 2026

• Working hours: 37.5 0900 - 1730 Mon - Fri

• Working type: Onsite full time

• Salary: £24,000

Recruitment Process:

1. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

3. A final shortlist of candidates will be invited to an interview onsite with two members of the hiring team.
4. All candidates will receive telephone feedback after their interviews and if offered will be invited to return to the office for a further site tour and to provide right to work documentation.
