LIXIL Global Design the award-winning in-house design team for LIXIL, a global leader in the bath, kitchen, and housing technology industry, with studios in some of the most cosmopolitan and culturally diverse cities in the world such as Tokyo, London, Singapore, Shanghai, Düsseldorf, and New York, is looking to expand its team in London-Richmond, beside the river Thames.

LIXIL Global Design is looking for a talented and creative Product/Industrial Designer with experience developing innovative and exciting design solutions. Working as part of a global design team, and with global stakeholders, the successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to expand the brand\\\'s design capabilities and help in establishing a successful studio in London. The candidate will work with the team and independently across all areas of the global business, including branding, retail, packaging, and product graphics whilst living the three core LIXIL values “Do the Right Thing”, “Work with Respect” and “Experiment and Learn”.

This is a full-time position on a 2-year fixed term contract based in our Design Studio in London.

Your responsibilities:

  • Lead industrial design components, creating innovative concepts, products, experiences, services, and human interfaces within multidisciplinary development teams.
  • Produce robust, high-quality surface models.
  • Develop detailed designs for components and products.
  • Generate innovative solutions from consumer insights through to production.
  • Effectively communicate concepts and ideas through written, visual, and verbal means.
  • Utilize Autodesk Alias Surface and/or Rhino 3D to create Class-A 3D models.
  • Manage projects by working closely with the design studio and engineering teams on design solutions.
  • Share best practices with LIXIL design studios and actively contribute to enhancing LIXIL Design standards and processes.
  • Travel required within the US, Asia, and Europe.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Industrial/Product Design with at least 3 years of experience in Product or Industrial Design.
  • Proven experience in Product Design across a wide range of industries, such as furniture, consumer electronics, white goods, and automotive.
  • Proven experience working with international companies and multiple global brands.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD software, including Autodesk Alias Surface and/or Rhino.
  • Proficient in visualization media tools such as Keyshot and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign).
  • Excellent visual expression skills (sketching) with a strong sensibility towards aesthetic balance and innovation.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Strong awareness of cultural and international trends in art, design, and technology.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks with varying deadlines.
  • A fresh thinker with the ability to learn and apply new skills quickly.
  • Demonstrates visual flair and strong communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships.
