Industrial Designer

We are looking for a talented Industrial Designer to join our Industrial Design & Innovation team. This is an exciting opportunity where you will focus on solving everyday consumer problems with disruptive design solutions. Working across multiple product categories you will develop highly inventive, insight-led designs that truly resonate with users.

What you will be doing:

1. Solving everyday problems with bold, inventive ideas
2. Identifying opportunities and problems that will lead to high ROI product designs
3. Managing multiple projects from research through to commercially viable concept designs
4. Challenging the ordinary to create new disruptive designs
5. Building low fidelity test rigs and prototypes
6. Creating 3D prints of your solutions to test and critique
7. Collaborating with other designers and design managers in the team
8. Clearly presenting ideas to the senior team
9. Liaising with design managers and preparing clear and concise handover presentations
10. Delivering concepts in-line with the critical path

What we need from you:

1. An undergraduate (or masters) degree in Industrial Design or Product Design
2. Three years or more industry experience
3. Strong industrial design skills with a proven track record of success
4. A portfolio showing an inventive nature turning ideas into commercially viable products
5. An ability to effectively manage time whilst working to tight critical paths on multiple projects
6. A natural flair to clearly communicate ideas to senior teams
7. A good understanding of manufacturing techniques and processes
8. Excellent knowledge of design applications such as, Adobe CS, Solidworks and KeyShot
9. A creative thought process with a self-motivated drive to create ‘big ideas’
10. An entrepreneurial hands-on approach
11. An adaptable, reliable character with the ability to easily engage with others
12. The ability to challenge conventional thinking, whilst keeping ideas commercial
