This school is a co-educational independent school in Dorking, Surrey, offering both day and boarding options for students aged 11-18. The school follows an internationally minded curriculum, including GCSEs, A-Levels, and the IB Diploma Programme, fostering academic excellence and personal growth. Location: Dorking, Surrey
Salary: £40,810 - £42,810 per annum (FTE)
Hours: 3-4 days per week

Are you a passionate and dedicated English teacher looking to make a real difference? This school in Dorking is seeking an English Teacher to join a Learning Development Centre, supporting students across Years 7-13 with tailored English lessons.

The Role in Dorking:

As an English Teacher, you will:

  1. Deliver 1:1, paired, and small group lessons to students with diverse learning needs.
  2. Foster a supportive and engaging learning environment.
  3. Use multisensory and alternative teaching methods to support students' literacy development.
  4. Work with students with neurodiversity (knowledge of dyslexia and anxiety support is advantageous).
  5. Track progress, set targets, and liaise with parents, colleagues, and external agencies.
What We’re Looking For:

Qualifications: English degree + Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or specialist English teaching qualification.
Experience: Teaching English at KS3 to KS5, with a strong ability to differentiate and support students with varied abilities.
Skills: Creative, adaptable, and a reflective practitioner with strong communication and organisational skills.
Knowledge: A strong grasp of the English curriculum (IGCSE, A-Level, IB desirable).
