The Role:

As the In-House Legal Counsel for Deckers EMEA, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the legal framework within a dynamic, fast-paced multinational environment. Your mission will be to safeguard our company by ensuring legal compliance across all business units, providing strategic legal insights, and fostering a culture of proactive legal awareness. You'll be instrumental in supporting our European Legal Counsel, addressing a spectrum of legal domains including corporate governance, intellectual property, litigation, and regulatory compliance, thereby directly contributing to our strategic goals and operational excellence.

Your Impact:
  1. Manage external European counsel on real estate, employment, competition law, and other commercial legal matters.
  2. Structure, draft, and negotiate international distribution, marketing, services, logistics, and other agreements.
  3. Advise business partners on employment, e-commerce, marketing, sales, property, IT, customer services, and regulatory matters.
  4. Oversee litigation management, ensuring effective legal action and risk mitigation.
  5. Uphold corporate governance and compliance standards and support ethical business practices.
  6. Integrate the legal team within Deckers' culture through training and regular interaction with business teams.
  7. Enhance legal processes and standard form agreements for operational efficiency and risk control.

We would Love to Hear from People with:
  1. Licenced to practice and in good standing in the United Kingdom.
  2. Significant in-house post-qualification legal experience.
  3. Extensive experience in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts.
  4. Well-versed in corporate governance, including board meetings and shareholder resolutions.
  5. Skilled in handling confidential and highly sensitive matters discreetly and professionally.
