In-house Construction Solicitor

Our client is a global provider of products and services to organisations in the nuclear energy sector. This includes the design, fabrication, installation and maintenance of advanced components, high tech systems used in the operation of power plants, plus a range of other specialist services.

Role - In-house Construction Solicitor / Legal Counsel:

Reporting into an experienced senior solicitor, as In-house Construction Solicitor / Legal Counsel, you will provide legal advice and support on varied legal matters across the business.

Specific duties and responsibilities are likely to include:

1. Preparing, reviewing and negotiating high-value, complex and bespoke construction and engineering contracts - predominantly NEC3 or FIDIC;
2. Working on various bids and tenders;
3. Handling various other contracts, consultancy agreements, JV agreements and commercial matters as required.

In addition to your construction and contracts duties, you will:

1. Provide advice, support and guidance to management;
2. Provide in-house training to stakeholders;
3. Contribute to the maintenance of standard terms;
4. Assist in export control matters;
5. Assist with general risk management and corporate governance.

About you:

Ideal applicants will have experience in construction and/or projects law, specifically NEC3 and/or FIDIC contracts. You should have worked for a leading national or international law firm, or in-house team.

Previous in-house experience in the Energy/Nuclear or Infrastructure sector, or a strong interest in the energy sector, is highly desirable but not essential.

Working arrangements:

Our client is seeking a solicitor based in Greater Manchester or surrounds however remote and hybrid working arrangements will be considered.
