Our client is seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable In-House Trade Lawyer to join their team in Birmingham. This role is heavily focused on supporting the trade finance aspects of the business and offers the opportunity to work on key strategic projects.

What you'll do:

1. Provide legal advice to the internal stakeholders
2. Manage legal risk with a focus on trade finance transactions and structures
3. Advise on a wide range of trade and working capital products
4. Review and negotiate a full range of transaction documentation
5. Coordinate projects and transactions
6. Tackle new technical areas of law without prior experience

What you bring:

• English law qualified Solicitor with thorough knowledge of general banking/finance law
• Experience in a law firm or an in-house department of a reputable bank focusing on finance transactional work
• Proven track record on a range of general banking work, structured transactions and cross border transactions
• Strong technical legal skills, including drafting and negotiating legal documentation
• Ability to manage varied workload under pressure and deal with competing priorities
• Good communicator with strong personal impact and a strong team player
