Job Description Summary
In this role you will join our Imaging & Digital Group, within the R&D department of GE HealthCare's Pharmaceutical Diagnostics (PDx) business segment. PDx is developing a broad portfolio of novel imaging diagnostic agents, in support of which the Imaging Technology Leaders (typically PhD/MD level) provide subject matter expertise in imaging science and technology, and their application to clinical trials. In this role, you will be responsible for the rigorous implementation of imaging methods in the clinical development of novel radiopharmaceuticals and provide scientific SME leadership as the imaging technology representative on clinical teams. You will work closely with colleagues within the Imaging & Digital Group (including imaging operations, and in the development of novel analytical tools) and the broader R&D and PDx organisation. You will initially focus on Oncology molecular imaging (MI) programs, within the broader PDx portfolio that encompasses Oncology, Neuroscience, and Cardiology, along with non-MI contrast agents. You will report to the Global Head of Imaging Technology.


Job Description


Responsibilities

  1. Provide subject-matter expertise in imaging within PDx R&D globally
  2. Advise on imaging components of clinical protocols from the standpoints of technology, quality, and practicality
  3. Translate protocol imaging endpoints to an imaging strategy and formalize this in study documents including imaging manual, quality manual, site training materials and image review charter
  4. Develop dosimetry imaging requirements and perform organ level dosimetry calculations
  5. Author and review imaging sections of trial-facing and regulatory documents
  6. Collaborate with R&D Digital colleagues in the development of novel algorithms and software tools
  7. Maintain an external scientific profile, including conference presentations, publications, and consortium participation, as appropriate
  8. Influence portfolio / operational strategies, technical and scientific roadmaps, risks and recommendations with internal and external teams and advise senior leadership
  9. Collaborate cross-functionally within PDx clinical study teams, with medical affairs and product leaders
  10. Travel to international and domestic clinical study sites to assist with or perform initiation and training
  11. Maintain and continually develop competence in imaging modalities associated with the position
  12. Manage clinical study image data for internal and external customers according to Good Clinical Practice, HIPAA and other applicable regulations
  13. Build cross-business strategies and collaboration between Pharmaceutical Diagnostics and other GEHC business segments

Qualifications

  1. PhD or MD in a relevant science discipline such as Medical Physics, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Radiology, etc.
  2. Strong background in molecular imaging, especially PET/CT; experience with other modalities and contrast media is a plus
  3. Experience with clinical trials involving imaging endpoints, including scanner qualification and protocol set up across different scanner vendors, centralized image core lab activities
  4. Awareness of imaging applied to clinical practice
  5. Proven track record of working across multiple functions with diverse teams
  6. Knowledge in the scientific and clinical research of diagnostic imaging agents
  7. A high degree of initiative, ability to work systematically and independently
  8. Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and teamwork
  9. Excellent oral and written command of English

Desirable skills

  1. Relevant professional qualifications and certifications (e.g. Board Certification, Member or Fellow in an appropriate professional body etc.).
  2. Experience working in industry/healthcare
  3. Experience with programming languages (e.g. MatLab, C++, Python, IDL, etc.)
  4. Knowledge of commercial medical workstation platforms and their capabilities
  5. Attention to detail
  6. Ability to multitask
  7. Ability to persevere and work effectively during high-pressure situations
