Imaging Escalation, Allocation and Assurance Coordinator

Imaging is a multi-speciality directorate, and the post holder will need to gain in depth knowledge of a wide range of booking protocols/templates and specific standards for each area to enable them to make, amend and cancel appointments. The post holder will also work to written guidelines and on a rota basis will be involved in allocating and sending off site cases for report, recording all actions on the department Patient tracker so we can monitor all cases against agreed turnaround targets. For both functions the post holder will be required to liaise with a variety of clinical and non-clinical staff from inside and outside of the Trust.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will be required to work as part of a team of coordinators who are responsible for providing a comprehensive and patient-orientated service dealing with escalations for clinical, pathway (RTT & DM01) and incident related reasons; supporting timely management and response for Imaging procedures linked to the central booking service to Radiology. The Escalations, Allocation and Assurance staff/team currently operate Monday to Friday during normal business hours. This is a multi-skilled role, and the post holder will be expected to rotate on a regular basis within different areas; allocation and send, PTL management and escalation email management. The team are also responsible for running checks aligned to HIVE to ensure internal targets are met and orders are managed within HIVE as expected.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent
  • ECDL or equivalent experience
  • Customer Services/Care training/qualification
  • NVQ 3

Experience

  • Experience of using database software
  • Experience using computer systems to track and trace patients/customers

Skills

  • Software packages and/or developed word processing and IT skills
  • Good command of oral and written English
  • Excellent telephone skills

Knowledge

  • Social awareness of diverse cultural needs coupled with front of house courtesy.
  • Awareness of Trust Values
