ICT Desktop Support Analyst

Job Summary

The Information Communication Technology Department has a vacancy for an ICT Desktop Support Analyst. The role of the Desktop Support Analyst is to be responsible for end user device management across the D&G customer base, ensuring service continuity, inventory management (including asset management) and endpoint security.

Main duties of the job

The Desktop Services Team provide expert-level IT technical support to over 4000 clinical and administrative colleagues across multiple sites including Darent Valley, Queen Marys Sidcup, Erith and Gravesend plus a number of other community based clinical staff. This role is both technical and operational and will involve the day to day running of the IT support service to agreed service levels and installation of new hardware and systems.

5. Ability to analyse a range of complex Desktop Services issues to effect resolution.
6. Sound interpersonal communication skills with the ability to use initiative.

Education and Training

Essential

• Educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience

Desirable

• IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation
• MCDST Certification

Knowledge

Essential

• Good working knowledge of modern Information Technology including desktop operating systems, software packages, mobile devices (Smartphones, tablets, etc)
• General knowledge of MS Office and project specific software
• Excellent written skills for the production of effective operational documentation
• Ability to analyse a range of complex Desktop Services issues to effect resolution
• Sound interpersonal communications skills with the ability to use initiative
• Advanced keyboard skills
• Organised with the ability to manage workload and manage conflicting priorities
• Ability to assimilate information quickly and make timely and appropriate action

Desirable

• Understanding of IT management principles
• Knowledge and practice in time-recording and budgetary control mechanisms

Experience

• Demonstrable desktop support skills
• Substantial experience in a technical environment

• Demonstrable experience of build, configuration and support of client devices and use of remote tools (e.g. Zen Works, LIM, WSUS, Anti-Virus, Encryption)
