Job Description

The Fiduciary Programs and Platforms (FPP) Team is a dynamic, innovative, and forward-thinking team responsible for the management and development of Bank of America’s industry-leading fiduciary business, including the Merrill Lynch Investment Advisory Program (IAP) and its Merrill Lynch One platform. IAP comprises over $1.5+ trillion in client assets across 800k+ households, which generates ~$10B in annual revenue for Merrill Wealth Management. This team and our Fiduciary program offering are critical to help drive business growth and optimal investment outcomes for our clients. The primary focus areas of the team consist of providing support of the fiduciary program offering, including platform enhancements and modernization, improving product offerings & capabilities, identifying pricing opportunities, along with defining and implementing IAP oversight and program guidelines to help drive growth and efficiency across all client segments and advisors across the company.

Reporting to the Head of Platform Development, the IAP Platform Specialist will be responsible for driving the development and execution of prioritized projects to enable the growth and capacity of our leading IAP business and a world class advisor and client experience.

Responsibilities include monitoring the performance of a domestic discretionary or non-discretionary, advisory product, which may include managing a product within the brokerage or institutional offering. Responsibilities include working with more senior Product Specialists in developing product plans, strategies and enhancements, and performing data collection and coordination activities.

You will:

  1. Work at the center of the firm’s fast-growing and award winning investment advisory program and collaborate with colleagues in Program Management, Managed Account Advisors (MAA), Operations, Technology, Capital Markets, Legal, Risk and Compliance to deliver state of the art investment advisory capabilities.
  2. Lead the development of business requirements, wireframe design and workflow.
  3. Ensure business requirements and overall project direction are in alignment with strategy and other in-flight initiatives and dependencies.
  4. Groom requirements with Technology (Agile methodology), oversee test plans and manage deliverables to established budget and milestones.
  5. Maintain thorough knowledge of systems and operations for products supported.
  6. Partner with appropriate stakeholders to ensure release readiness (communications, governance, deployment tactics, etc...).
  7. Identify gaps in platform offerings by understanding competitor Platforms, as well as ACTM / field feedback.
  8. Promote and be a champion for the platform via various forums and events.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in a platform or product development position preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of managed account platform and products required.
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation and communication skills, robust organization skills.
  • High proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • High performer in fast paced environment with ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
  • Comfortable and capable of working with multiple business, control, technology and operations partners, senior executives, front-office teams and leadership, and clients and communicating with them at their level of analytical/technical understanding.
  • Demonstrate strong people skills to influence, lead and collaborate across multiple bank partners.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment while achieving individual goals.
  • Ability to think creatively and identify out of the box solutions while balancing business priorities and risks.
  • Strong relationship building skills.
  • Self-motivated, positive attitude and high energy.
  • 2-5+ years of experience in the financial services industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred.

Pay Transparency details:

Pay range: $82,700.00 - $115,100.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set. Discretionary incentive eligible. This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
