Job description

Job Title: HVAC Engineer

Location: Central Belt Scotland.

Salary: £35,000 – £50,000.

A well-established company specializing in the installation, maintenance, and servicing of HVAC systems across various sectors is currently looking for a skilled and experienced HVAC Engineer to join the team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Installation, Maintenance, and Testing: Carry out installation, maintenance, and testing of HVAC systems in line with current qualifications and regulations.
  • Reactive Maintenance: Inspect, repair, and install HVAC equipment in response to reactive maintenance requests across various sites.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular preventative maintenance, making any necessary adjustments to heating, air conditioning, and ventilation systems.
  • Documentation: Complete all required certificates and reports after every installation, repair, and service, ensuring all work is documented accurately.
  • Troubleshooting & Fault Diagnosis: Identify and troubleshoot issues within HVAC systems, conducting repairs or replacements of faulty parts and components.
  • System Optimisation: Ensure HVAC systems are running efficiently, adjusting settings and calibrations to optimise performance and energy efficiency.
  • Customer Interaction: Maintain excellent relationships with clients, offering advice and guidance on HVAC system care and maintenance.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure compliance with all industry standards, building codes, and regulations during the installation and maintenance processes.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other engineers and staff to ensure smooth operations and to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Emergency Repairs: Be available for emergency call-outs and provide rapid responses to urgent issues that arise within the HVAC systems.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) in HVAC or air conditioning.
  • Ability to fault-find and diagnose issues.
  • Good knowledge of HVAC systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
  • Full driving license.
  • Knowledge of building management systems (BMS) and energy-efficient technologies (desirable).
