Job description

  • Annual Salary: 40,000 – 45,000
  • Location: Midlands, predominantly around Birmingham
  • Job Type: Full–time

Join a well–established Mechanical and Electrical Contractor with over 50 years of excellence in the construction industry. We are seeking a skilled HVAC Engineer to work on both reactive and planned maintenance across a variety of settings including commercial and domestic environments.

Day–to–day of the role:

  • Conduct reactive maintenance tasks such as identifying and rectifying leaks, replacing faulty parts in plumbing systems, and troubleshooting issues with boilers and heating systems.
  • Perform planned maintenance checks and services on systems including boilers, hot and cold water supplies, heating, and ventilation.
  • Work closely with the Customer Care team to schedule post–project completion visits during the defect period.
  • Provide high–quality maintenance and small works for local businesses.
  • Ensure effective communication and reporting back to the office regarding material requirements and client updates.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years relevant experience in construction, specifically in installation or maintenance.
  • NVQ in Plumbing – both domestic and commercial.
  • NVQ in Heating and Ventilation.
  • Gas Safe Qualified (Domestic as a minimum).
  • Possession of a relevant trade CSCS skills card.
  • Full UK Driver's License.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to work respectfully and communicate effectively in client homes and offices.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively, making informed decisions as needed.
  • Positive and friendly outlook.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary of 40,000 – 45,000.
  • Standard working hours: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with one hour for lunch.
  • 25 days holiday plus statutory 8 days.
