Monarch Education is seeking a qualified Humanities Teacher to join a dynamic and supportive secondary school on a long term basis, for the rest of the academic year. This exciting opportunity is open to teachers whether you are highly experienced or an ECT.

Key Responsibilities Of a Humanities Teacher
  1. Curriculum Development:
    • Design and implement a comprehensive humanities curriculum that aligns with educational standards and promotes critical thinking.
    • Incorporate diverse perspectives and cultural viewpoints into lesson plans.
  2. Instruction:
    • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in subjects such as history, literature, philosophy, and the arts.
    • Utilise a variety of teaching methods and technologies to cater to different learning styles and needs.
  3. Assessment and Evaluation:
    • Create, administer, and grade assessments to evaluate student understanding and progress.
    • Provide constructive feedback to students on their work, fostering a growth mindset.
  4. Classroom Management:
    • Establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
    • Implement effective classroom management strategies to maintain order and respect.
  5. Individualised Support:
    • Identify and support students who may need additional assistance or enrichment in humanities subjects.
    • Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate students with diverse abilities and learning requirements.
  6. Professional Development:
    • Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with new teaching methodologies, technologies, and trends in humanities education.

Key Skills And Qualifications
  1. Qualifications:
    • A recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent).
    • A degree in a Humanities related field.
  2. Experience:
    • Proven experience of teaching Humanities at KS3, KS4, and KS5, with a strong understanding of the Humanities curriculum.
    • Experience of using a variety of assessment methods and being able to adapt teaching to suit students' individual learning styles.
    • Ability to use data to inform planning and improve student outcomes.
  3. Skills and Attributes:
