Job description

An outstanding opportunity for an HR Manager has arisen to join a leading international manufacturing business based on the Isle of Wight.

Reporting to the CEO, this is a high-profile role, acting as a conduit to the international group, comfortable working at Director and Senior Manager level, bringing new ideas and solutions to our company culture.

This is a broad strategic HR generalist role, key responsibilities will include:

  1. Developing and implementing HR strategies that align with the company’s business objectives.
  2. Providing HR metrics and data-driven insights to management for strategic decision-making.
  3. Promoting a learning culture and continuous learning.
  4. Ensuring compliance with UK employment laws, advising on disciplinary actions, grievances, and dismissals.
  5. Supporting employee engagement initiatives to improve retention and job satisfaction.
  6. Contributing to succession planning and workforce development, ensuring future leadership pipelines.
  7. Monitoring employee absence and conducting return to work interviews.
  8. Acting as a bridge between management and employees, addressing grievances, concerns, and workplace issues.
  9. Overseeing the full recruitment cycle, including workforce planning, job descriptions, screening, interviews, and onboarding.
  10. Ensuring Line Managers adhere to the probation review policy, providing guidance and support as needed.
  11. Coordinating and managing the annual performance review process, ensuring consistent feedback and development plans.
  12. Monitoring National Minimum Wage (NMW) increases and liaising with payroll to implement changes.
  13. Collaborating with the Apprenticeship Manager to ensure government-mandated pay increases are applied.
  14. Maintaining and updating the HR Handbook bi-annually, ensuring it is legally compliant and aligned with business needs.
  15. Drafting, issuing, and managing all HR-related documentation, including contracts, offer letters, policies, and workforce records.

Minimum Requirements:

  • CIPD level 5 or 7.
  • Minimum 4 years in HR Generalist, L&D, or OD roles.
  • Strong understanding of ACAS guidelines, disciplinary procedures, grievances, and compliance.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Comfortable being predominantly site-based in Isle of Wight and/or Southampton.
