At Southwark Council, we believe our greatest strength to be our people. Driven by values that promote openness, honesty, and accountability, we’re committed to ensuring our staff, residents, and communities are enabled to reach their full potential.
As an HR Business Partner (HRBP) you’ll provide expertise, advice, guidance and solutions to colleagues Council-wide. Solution-focused, you’ll improve employee retention, management competence, policy application, data-driven decisions and more. The key is to create open and honest working partnerships, where you can set clear expectations for managers, helping them discharge their duties in a fair and reflective way.
It’s all about tackling workforce planning and people solutions with senior managers, key stakeholders and HR colleagues at an operational level. Whatever the task – from talent management and workforce planning to employee relations and organisational change – you’ll lead and plan resources to deliver services, managing competing demands.
By providing advice that brings improvement and supports managers, you’ll inspire trust in the HR Business Partner service. An expert in generalist HR and a postgraduate member of the CIPD (or equivalent), you’ll bring strong HR knowledge, the ability to resolve requests and impressive efficiency. Well organised, you can build relationships with managers, prepare and present data, and coach, advise and train colleagues to strengthen people practices.
Yes, it’s a fast-paced world, but you thrive on the challenge. In return for creating a strong ER experience, we can offer a flexible hybrid model of working and a focused development plan.
Ready to strengthen your ER knowledge and skills? At Southwark, you can. By harnessing our individual and collective contributions, we have the power to create a better future for Southwark. Use your power to help us build a next generation workforce for a next generation council. Join us.
