Job Summary

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Human Resources Advisor to join our Human Resources Team at Greater Peterborough Network (GPN), with the key responsibilities for staff engagement, employee relations and performance.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of employment legislation, communication, change management and staff engagement. Additionally, you will handle a range of HR case work and the successful delivery of Key Performance Indicators.

Due to the rapid growth of the services we provide, you will need to be able to work efficiently and independently in a busy environment. You will also possess good attention to detail, whilst being committed to delivering to the highest of standards and able to communicate at all levels. There is a lot of processing within this role, so good IT skills would be beneficial.

You will have a passion to make a difference and an ability to form good working relationships. You will work alongside the HR Advisor Recruitment, and have support from our HR administrator. As a team, you will provide managers with focused HR advice. You will work closely with our finance and data teams.

This role reports to the Human Resources and Organisational Development Business Partner.

The role is 37.5 hours per week, contracted Monday to Friday 9.00am-17.00pm.

This role is based on site across the 5 days and the location is central Peterborough.

Main duties of the job

  • Work with the team to deliver professional people management practices, relationships, support from colleagues and organisational factors.
  • Collate data gathered through employee engagement and all formats of colleague feedback, collaborating with the management team to provide positive outcomes and solutions.
  • Provide expert HR advice in line with policies and procedures, focusing on organisational engagement and loyalty/reward.
  • Manage the development of engagement programmes such as employee recognition and wellness activities.
  • Maintain effective processes within the reporting and support of attendance management, annual leave, and flexible working policies.
  • Deliver communication processes for all people-related activities, ensuring smooth communication during organisational change, policy and organisational updates.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

  • CIPD Level 5 qualified or equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.

Experience Essential

  • Operational HR experience and HR best practice.
  • Experience and knowledge within change management activities.
  • Experience and knowledge of workforce modelling and best practice.
  • Communication skills across different formats and social media.
  • Experience and knowledge of capacity planning and detail planning.

Knowledge and skills Essential

  • Well organised, ability to work under pressure and outcome focused.
  • Strong communication skills, with a good understanding of different media channels.
  • Competent user of Information Technology.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to develop good working relationships with people at various levels.
  • Able to challenge thinking.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret HR statistics.
  • Ability to plan effectively and work to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to constructively challenge ways of working.
  • Successfully supporting and delivering multiple HR projects.
