The Opportunity

Working 20 hours per week in a hybrid arrangement, you'll join a dynamic HR team that's central to our Council's success. You'll play a crucial role in both supporting our day-to-day operations and helping to shape our future through the delivery of our People and Organisation Development Strategy.

What You'll Do

As a HR Advisor, you'll provide expert guidance across the organisation, handling everything from complex employee relations cases to strategic policy development. You'll also:

  • Lead on employee relations matters, providing authoritative advice to managers and staff
  • Drive best practice in people management across the Council
  • Develop innovative solutions for absence management and employee wellbeing
  • Handle family-friendly policies and flexible working requests
  • Contribute to the modernisation of HR policies and procedures
  • Leverage HR analytics to inform decision-making and strategy

What You'll Bring

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent (essential)
  • Proven experience as an HR Advisor
  • Up-to-date knowledge of employment law and its practical application
  • Strong relationship-building skills and stakeholder management ability
  • Experience in change management and organisational development
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and professional credibility

Package Details

  • Salary: £33,854 - £36,638 per annum (pro rata)
  • Hours: 20 hours per week
  • Contract: Two-year fixed term
  • Location: Hybrid working
  • Additional benefits include local government pension scheme and flexible working arrangements
